Mia Goth has officially filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf, bringing a formal end to a marriage that had been under strain for more than a year. Goth's petition, filed Tuesday, October 6 in Los Angeles Superior Court, asks for legal and physical custody of the couple's 4-year-old daughter, Isabel, with visitation for LaBeouf. The actress, 32, cited irreconcilable differences and gave their date of separation as July 28, 2025.
She also asked the court to bar spousal support for both of them and for each to cover their own attorney costs and fees. Goth, best known for the horror films X and Pearl, indicated in the filings that Isabel has been living with her since the separation date. TMZ was first to report the filing.
Goth and LaBeouf, 40, met in 2012 on the set of Nymphomaniac: Vol. II and married in October 2016. They filed for divorce in 2018 after LaBeouf was spotted with FKA Twigs, who later sued him for sexual battery, assault and emotional distress over their relationship — a case the two parties settled out of court last year. Goth and LaBeouf reconciled in 2020 and welcomed Isabel in March 2022.
The split had been an open secret for months. In February, Page Six reported that the former couple had been separated since last year, with an insider saying LaBeouf moved to New Orleans after the breakup to be closer to family. That same month, LaBeouf was arrested after getting into a drunken brawl during Mardi Gras. In June, he pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of simple battery and was given a six-month suspended sentence and two years' probation.
Earlier this year, LaBeouf spoke about the split in an interview, saying they were deeply unhappy and admitting he had made a lot of mistakes early on before they tried to have a baby, acknowledging he had violated trust in a big way. Before his move to New Orleans, where he bought a $1 million home, police had been called to the couple's Los Angeles home multiple times. Sources said Goth wanted him to enter rehab.
LaBeouf has since been spending time with a new girlfriend, Nicole Mumphrey. For Goth, the divorce filing closes the door on one of Hollywood's most tumultuous on-and-off relationships — a decade-long saga of reconciliations, legal troubles and public confessions that played out in the tabloids. Representatives for Goth and LaBeouf did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the filing. With the divorce now formalized, custody of Isabel is expected to be the central issue as the case moves through the Los Angeles courts.
