Mia Goth has officially filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting primary custody of their 4-year-old daughter Isabel, more than a year after the couple's separation.
The "Pearl" actress, 32, submitted a petition for dissolution of marriage in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, according to documents obtained by Page Six, USA Today and People. She listed their date of separation as July 28, 2025. In the filing, Goth asked for primary legal and physical custody of Isabel, with visitation for the "Transformers" star, and requested that the court terminate its ability to award spousal support to either party, with each side covering its own attorney costs and fees.
TMZ was first to report the filing. Representatives for both actors did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Goth and LaBeouf, 40, met in 2012 while filming Lars von Trier's "Nymphomaniac: Vol. II" and married in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2016. Their relationship has been turbulent: Goth first filed for divorce in 2018, but the pair reconciled while LaBeouf was in rehab, and they welcomed Isabel in March 2022. In a 2022 appearance on Jon Bernthal's "Real Ones" podcast, LaBeouf got emotional describing a video call from Goth while he was in rehab, saying, "She gave me hope when I was really running on fumes."
Reports of a renewed split emerged in February 2026, when LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans during Mardi Gras after police said he struck two men during an altercation at a business in the Marigny area. He was later seen on Bourbon Street dancing with his jail release paperwork in his mouth and posted "Free me" on X. This June, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery charges, receiving two years' probation along with alcohol abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training and anger management classes.
In March 2026, LaBeouf spoke publicly about the breakdown of the marriage on "Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan," admitting he had "failed" Goth. "We were deeply unhappy," he said. "I made a lot of mistakes early on before we tried to have a baby. I had violated trust in a big, big way." After the split, LaBeouf moved from the Los Angeles home he shared with Goth to New Orleans, and has since been linked to girlfriend Nicole Mumphrey. The divorce filing brings a formal legal end to one of Hollywood's most chaotic on-and-off romances.
