Kanye West is reportedly still determined to get back at Taylor Swift - and he wants Blake Lively to help him do it. According to a report in Star magazine, the rapper has been reaching out to people in Lively's circle in an attempt to enlist the "Gossip Girl" star in a revenge plot against the pop icon, believing that Lively's own falling-out with Swift makes her a natural ally.
The feud between West and Swift is one of the longest-running in pop culture. At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Swift won Best Female Video, and West stormed the stage, seized the microphone, and declared that Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. The two later reconciled, but in 2016 West released the song "Famous," featuring controversial lyrics about Swift that reignited the conflict and spawned years of mutual recriminations over whether she had approved the line.
Years later, the feud appears to be anything but over. A source told Star: "He genuinely believes that Blake's going to see this as an opportunity that's too good to pass up." The calculation, according to the report, is that Lively - once Swift's close friend - has fallen out with the singer after Swift's name surfaced in Lively's legal battle with "It Ends With Us" director Justin Baldoni. West is said to believe that the rift makes Lively receptive to joining forces.
But contacting Lively has proven difficult. The report says West has been working through intermediaries to reach people around her, and that he is also allegedly reaching out to others who have had beef with Swift, attempting to assemble a coalition of the pop star's adversaries. Sources quoted in the report, however, put the odds of Lively actually helping West at "less than zero."
The alleged plot lands at a complicated moment for Lively, who is locked in her own high-stakes litigation with Baldoni. Her lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment and retaliation is scheduled for trial, and the case has already generated a blizzard of filings, countersuits, and public-relations warfare. Adding a tabloid revenge scheme involving West would be, by any measure, an unwelcome complication.
Neither West, Swift, nor Lively has publicly commented on the report. As with much of West's recent activity - which has veered between music, fashion provocations, and erratic public statements - it remains unclear how seriously the alleged outreach should be taken. But the story has reignited fascination with a feud that has now spanned three distinct eras of pop culture, from the VMAs stage in 2009 to the group chats of 2026.
