MasterChef: The Professionals star Monica Galetti has revealed she is no longer in contact with former stars Gregg Wallace and John Torode, drawing a line under the scandal that engulfed the BBC cooking franchise.
The chef, 51, has featured as a judge on the BBC spin-off show since joining in 2009. Until 2024, Galetti appeared alongside Gregg Wallace, who also fronted the regular series alongside John Torode.
In an interview with The Times, Galetti was asked about "liking" a November 2024 video Wallace posted online, where he thanked fans for their support. She responded: "I don't want to discuss Gregg at all." Asked whether she still speaks to Wallace and Torode after both were axed from the BBC show, she said simply: "Not really." The interviewer remarked it was "clearly the end of the conversation."
Wallace, 61, was sacked by the BBC and production company Banijay in July 2025 after an independent investigation into allegations of bad behaviour on the show between 2005 and 2024. A total of 45 out of 83 allegations against him were upheld. The majority concerned inappropriate sexual language, although one related to unwanted touching.
The report also said that two allegations against two other individuals had been substantiated. Torode, 61, subsequently confirmed that one of the complaints was against him. He said: "I am the individual who is alleged to have used racial language on one occasion. I have absolutely no recollection of this and I do not believe that it happened."
Torode has since said he no longer speaks to Wallace either, describing their relationship as always largely professional: "When we filmed, we filmed, and when we didn't, we weren't in touch. Why would it change now?" He has turned his attention to new projects, including a YouTube cooking channel with his wife, Lisa Faulkner, and described his sacking as "stressful".
Wallace, meanwhile, has been publicly needling the BBC about the revamped series. In an Instagram video he said his biggest mistake was "television", specifically "not getting out sooner", and urged followers to compare MasterChef's viewing figures since his departure with those of YouTube. The revamped season, hosted by Grace Dent and Anna Haugh, launched with a 28-day consolidated rating of 2.7 million viewers. Since June 2026, Wallace has been posting cooking videos to his own YouTube channel, which has around 13,100 subscribers.
After he was let go, Wallace said he was "deeply sorry for any distress" caused and that he "never set out to harm or humiliate", but noted that "none of the serious allegations against me were upheld". Galetti's pointed refusal to discuss him signals that, inside the MasterChef family, the fallout from the investigation is far from healed.
